iPhone Ringtones for free

This article shows you how to create free melodies for your iPhone, all you need is some songs already in iTunes and on your own. This method is tested and works with iTunes 7.7.1 and iPhone 2.0.1 firmware. The only drawback is you must use songs that are DRM free (this means that the shelves is protected, some songs are DRM protected iTunes and it will cause this method).

How to create ringtones using only iTunes.

1. find the line that you want to create your ringtone and right-click/and then select ' Get Info '.

2. click the Options tab and scroll down to ' start time ' and ' Break time '; this is the starting point for cutting your ringtone from and how long the ringtone will be.Enter a start and stop time in this context, but remember the total length must be less than 30 seconds; click OK

3. from this window, right-click on the song "clipped" then select "Convert selection to ACC '.This will enable your chosen start and stop times.

(If the menu item shows a different format you will need to change your preferences, go to ' Advanced iTunes Preferences > > > import ', then you must change the "Import using" with "AAC Encoder")

4. Locate your tune to your iTunes music by song, and drag it to your desktop if you do not want to keep the truncated part in iTunes then simply return to the iTunes folder and delete the truncated song from your iTunes library.

5. right click the song on your desktop. click ' Get Info '; Now you just need to change the extension from M4a to M4r.., this is so iTunes recognize as a ringtone.

What remains to be done is to simply double click the file, this will then allow you to load the ringtone in your iTunes library and load for your iPhone.
