Create iPhone Ringtones-How to Make Your Own iPhone Ringtones in iTunes


Making your own iPhone ringtones in iTunes with any non-DRM protected music is free and very easy to do.

First, you must make sure that iTunes AAC codec uses when you import files.For Windows users, click Edit > preferences, click settings under the tab "General" (Mac users click iTunes Preferences >). Select AAC Encoder in the first drop-down menu, and click OK.

Select the folder "Music" in the sidebar, right-click your song (ctrl + click for Mac users) and then Get Info now go to Options tab and set a start and stop time for the portion of the song you want to use. Make sure that the time is less than 40 seconds, and that they have completed the two check boxes.

Go back to your music library, right click on your song, and then select versioning AAC. This will create a new copy shortened the song under the original.

Now you need to convert that copy to a file., m4r so that this can be imported into your iPhone.Right-click the file, and select Show in Windows Explorer (show in Finder on the Mac).Select the file, then copy and paste a new version of the folder (Windows users can do this by pressing CTRL + C and then Ctrl + v and Mac users, pressing Command + C and then Command + V).

After you paste the new copy of the file, simply select the file, and then click the name of the file, and then change the extension m4a to m4r.If the extension m4a does not appear in the file name, users of Windows XP, click the tools > folder options, then click the view tab and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" in Windows Vista, you can find this same option organization > folder and search options; you can also change the file name, if you want, and make sure to remove hyphens or other symbols by name.

Return to iTunes and delete the first clip shortened AAC converted. now go back to the folder where the file was created. m4r, drag the file in iTunes, and drop it in your iPhone in the sidebar. Ringtone you are ready to go!
